Was your property damaged by wind or flooding in December? Thurston County wants to know
South Sound experienced record tidal flooding and bouts of heavy winds in December. Now Thurston County Emergency Management needs to know exactly how much damage the wintry conditions caused.
Emergency management is asking those who were affected by flooding and wind damage to submit their initial damage assessments as soon as possible by calling 360-867-2800 or emailing tcecc.fsc@co.thurston.wa.us.
The information will be used by the Federal Emergency Management Agency, which is the agency responsible for declaring a situation a disaster. FEMA often helps cover costs and other unmet needs during disaster situations.
To prepare for the next bout of hazardous weather, you can follow TCEM on Facebook and Twitter for up to date information on emergency situations in Thurston County. You can also sign up to receive alerts when there are hazardous conditions, including situations that require action such as a boil water notice or an evacuation.
