The body of a 34-year-old Olympia man was recovered Sunday from Park Lake near Sun Lakes State Park in Grant County.

The man was identified as Robert S. Reddoch, who went missing Saturday evening after jumping out of a moving boat, according to the Grant County Sheriff’s Office.

Divers located his body about 12:40 p.m. the next day. The lake is located off state Route 17, just south of Coulee City, about 22 miles north of Ephrata.

Reddoch, a father of four, drowned while on vacation with his extended family. A gofundme.com page has been set up on behalf of the family.

His wife, Jenifer Reddoch told The Olympian that her husband had been cliff diving earlier Saturday. She said Reddoch and a cousin jumped off the moving boat, but never came up. One witness reportedly saw Reddoch gasp for air.

“We have four kids and unfortunately they saw the whole thing,” Jenifer Reddoch said.

Reddoch worked in maintenance for the city of Bonney Lake’s public works department. For the past couple of years, he also coached a youth select basketball team called the Yelm Nets, which competed in tournaments around the state.

“That was something he was pretty passionate and proud about,” his wife said. “He’s going to be missed. He was a pretty amazing guy.”
