Starting this month, the Olympia City Council will be starting its meetings earlier. Instead of 7 p.m. every Tuesday, regular business meetings will start at 6 p.m.

The decision was approved by the council in ordinance form during its Tuesday, Jan. 31 meeting. According to a news release from the city, the intent is to “make more efficient use of limited time and resources.”

The council also is changing how it handles study sessions. Instead of having study sessions before council meetings, one meeting per month will be devoted to study and work sessions.

More information can be found on the city’s online meeting calendar.
