The United Way of Thurston County is accepting nominations for its Gladys Burns Human Service Award.

The award, which includes a $500 stipend to a nonprofit of the recipient’s choice, is designed to recognize an outstanding volunteer or professional from the human services community. It will be presented during the United Way of Thurston County’s Spirit of Giving Annual Awards Celebration from 6-8 p.m. Aug. 27 at the Hands On Children’s Museum in Olympia.
