Man found dead in porta-potty on Capital High School campus in Olympia

A man believed to be in his 30s was found dead inside a porta-potty on Friday near a sports field on Capital High School’s west side campus.

A detective with the Olympia Police Department has been assigned to investigate his death.

Police Lt. Paul Lower said police were called to the scene at about 1:15 p.m. March 17 after school staff reported a deceased person was in the portable restroom.

Lower said there were no obvious signs of trauma to the man. The Thurston County Coroner will investigate the man’s death.
