2 Shelton residents hospitalized after Friday wreck in Mason County
Two Shelton residents were hospitalized Friday following a two-vehicle wreck on U.S. Highway 101 in Mason County, according to the Washington State Patrol.
A 54-year-old Shelton man was flown to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, while his 32-year-old female passenger, also from Shelton, was taken to Mason General Hospital in Shelton.
Two Alaska residents in their 20s were not injured.
About noon Friday, the Shelton residents were headed north on U.S. Highway 101 at Skokomish River Road, while the Alaska residents were headed south on the same highway.
Troopers say the Shelton driver failed to yield and turned left in front of the other vehicle, which then crashed head-on into his car.
Following the crash, the road was blocked for 45 minutes, according to the State Patrol.
