The body of a man found lying in a west Olympia road is being investigated as a homicide, a spokesman for the Olympia Police Department said Sunday.

About 2 a.m., Olympia police were dispatched to the 1800 block of East End Street Northwest after a call to 911 about a body in the street.

Police responded and are now treating the man’s death as a homicide because of apparent stab wounds to his body, Lt. Paul Lower said.

The man who died is 37 and his medical examination is set for Tuesday, Thurston County Coroner Gary Warnock said.

Lower said police do not have a suspect description. “We are at the very beginning stages of our investigation,” he said.

Anyone with information is asked to call Olympia police at 360-753-8300.
