Traffic south of Tumwater on I-5 will be slowed for seven hours on Monday so that crews can repair a barrier that was recently damaged by a semi-truck, the state Department of Transportation announced.

From 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday, May 8, the left lanes in both directions of the freeway near 113th Avenue Southwest will close.

Motorists using the freeway can expect heavy congestion and are encouraged to adjust trips accordingly, WSDOT officials said.

Travelers also are encouraged to leave earlier or later in the day or to consider rescheduling discretionary travel.
