2 die, including Oregon man, in wrong-way crash on I-5 early Friday

Two people are dead, including a man from Oregon, after a 22-year-old man drove the wrong way on Interstate 5 early Friday morning, according to Washington State Patrol.

About 2:45 a.m., the man, whose city of residence was not immediately known, was headed south in the northbound lanes of I-5 near Castle Rock in Cowlitz County.

Troopers say he crashed into a car being driven by a 41-year-old Tigard, Oregon man who died at the scene. The 22-year-old also died at the scene, according to State Patrol. Both have yet to be identified.

Two other drivers were involved in the crash.

A 20-year-old Salem, Oregon man was not injured, while a 22-year-old Klamath Falls, Oregon man was taken to a hospital in Longview on a precautionary basis, according to State Patrol.
