A Pierce County man died Sunday night in a restroom at the Olive Garden restaurant in west Olympia, according to the Thurston County Coroner’s Office.

The 42-year-old Graham man is expected to be identified on Tuesday, Coroner Gary Warnock said.

About 7:40 p.m., Olympia police and fire department medics were dispatched to the restaurant on Capital Mall Drive near Black Lake Boulevard.

There was an attempt to revive the man, then Coroner’s Office staff were called to the scene about 8:10 p.m.

“His death is being investigated as a suspected drug overdose as drug paraphernalia was found near him in the restroom,” Warnock said.

The man’s medical examination is expected to happen Tuesday or Wednesday, he said.
