A 50-year-old pedestrian who was hit and killed by a driver in Tumwater last week has been identified by the Thurston County Coroner.

About 9:30 p.m. Aug. 15, Sean O’Leary of Tumwater was found dead in North Seventh Avenue Southwest near Desoto Street Southwest on Tumwater Hill.

O’Leary died from multiple blunt force injuries, Coroner Gary Warnock said.

Police still do not have much information about the incident, Tumwater Police Lt. Jen Kolb said.

The man was a resident of the neighborhood, but police are still trying to determine if he was struck by the driver while crossing the street, or was already lying in the road and was run over, she said.

The man’s injuries are consistent with being run over, Kolb said.

Anyone with information or video of the incident is asked to reach out to Detective Danielle Dawson at ddawson@ci.tumwater.wa.us or call South Sound Crime Stoppers at 800-222-8477.
