The Thurston County Sheriff’s Office is seeking more information about a smash-and-grab incident that happened early Tuesday.

About 4:30 a.m., deputies were dispatched to the 7900 block of Martin Way East after a report that a vehicle had crashed into a smoke shop called Pipes R Us. Deputies arrived and saw the vehicle which was registered in Seattle. They suspect the car was stolen, but not reported as such.

A check of surveillance video showed that after crashing into the business, several men entered it and took items before fleeing in a silver-colored passenger car waiting for them, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

About an hour before this, Yelm Police reported a similar incident at a marijuana business.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the non-emergency dispatch line at 360-704-2740 or at detectives@co.Thurston.wa.us
