The glass and cardboard recycling drop-off site at 1000 10th Ave. SE in Olympia will be closed for about 10 days because of 10th Avenue construction. But don’t worry, there’s a handful of other locations to use.

The location will be closed starting Monday, Sept. 18, and extending to Oct. 2. During that period, you can drop off glass recycling at:

  • Yauger Park, 503 Alta St. SW, which is open daily from dawn to dusk.
  • Concrete Recyclers, 2935 Black Lake Blvd. SW, which is open 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
  • Waste and Recovery Center, 2420 Hogum Bay Road NE, which is open daily from 8 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.

Cardboard can also be recycled at the Waste and Recovery Center.

The closure also will affect the Saturday Drop-off Site at 1000 10th Ave SE on Sept. 23. This includes yard waste, metal recycling and comingled recycling.

The closure schedule is subject to change depending on weather and other issues. You can check the City of Olympia’s website for updates, or follow Olyprojects on Twitter.
