A Lewis County man who died Tuesday afternoon in a wreck on Interstate-5 has been identified, according to Washington State Patrol.

Bert A. Holmes, 44, of Napavine, died at the scene of the crash.

About 2 p.m. Tuesday, Holmes was entering northbound I-5 via Labree Road in Lewis County. Meanwhile, a semi-trailer also was headed north.

Troopers say the driver of the semi-trailer pulled over to the right shoulder, partially blocking the right lane. Holmes crashed into the rear of the truck, according to State Patrol.

Holmes was not wearing a seat belt, troopers say.

The 23-year-old San Francisco man driving the semi-trailer was not hurt, according to State Patrol.
