A 34-year-old Spanaway man who died as a result of a motorcycle crash Friday, Sept. 29, near Lacey has been identified, according to a police report requested by The Olympian.

Micheal Scott Heinemann died en route to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, The Olympian previously reported.

The Olympian requested the police report because information about Heinemann’s death is not being handled by the Thurston County Coroner’s Office. A spokeswoman for Harborview also did not have information about the man. The Olympian also has reached out to the King County Medical Examiner.

About 10:20 a.m. Friday, Heinemann was injured in a wreck with a vehicle at Martin Way East and Ranger Drive Southeast. Witnesses say a car turned in front of the motorcycle, although Heinemann may have been speeding, said Sheriff’s Lt. Mike Brooks on Tuesday.

The Sheriff’s Office is still investigating the crash, he said.
