Bear spotted at The Evergreen State College, officials announce on school website
The Evergreen State College in Olympia is reporting that a bear was seen on campus Sunday evening, according to a message on the school’s website.
“There has been a bear sighting on The Evergreen State College’s Olympia campus in the ‘F’ Lot parking area,” the message reads. “Please be aware of your surroundings and if you come across a bear, stay calm, walk, do not run and make yourself as large as possible.”
The bear was spotted about 7 p.m. Sunday, but it has not been seen since then, said Kelly Von Holz, a spokeswoman for the college.
A black bear also was seen on campus in June 2022, The Olympian reported.
