About 10:25 p.m. Friday, the two teens were headed east on state Route 302 at Milepost 1 in Mason County, south of Belfair. Troopers say the truck drove off the road and crashed into a tree.

The 17-year-old male teen is from Lakebay, Pierce County. Following the wreck, he was taken to St. Michael Medical Center in Silverdale.

The driver, an 18-year-old man from Allyn, Mason County, was not injured.
