A 19-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of multiple crimes in south Thurston County Sunday night, according to Centralia police.

About 10:30 p.m., police were dispatched to the 900 block of Harrison Avenue in Centralia after a report of a drive-by shooting. Harrison Avenue is just off Interstate 5 and near the shopping area known as Centralia Outlets.

Police say the victim was driving west on Harrison Avenue when the 19-year-old suspect pulled up next to him, waved his gun and then fired it. The victim was not hit, but the vehicle was struck several times by multiple bullets, according to police.

Using what Centralia police call “Flock camera system” technology, the suspect vehicle was found at a Rochester address.

Thurston County Sheriff’s Office deputies confirmed that information and then both departments teamed up to make the arrest.

The 19-year-old man was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail on suspicion of drive-by shooting, first-degree assault and second-degree malicious mischief.

Anyone with any additional information about the incident is asked to call the Centralia Police Department at 360-330-7680, or Lewis County Communications at 360-740-1105.
