If you live in the Olympia area, it’s not out of the ordinary to either give or receive directions that reference at least one nearby building, business or natural feature. You may get an intersection here and there. But what you often won’t get is the current, official name of a place, especially if it’s a new city park or a state park that was renamed.

So, what are the current names of some local spots around town that have gotten new names in the past few years?
