A Sunday debris slide has closed a section of state Route 106 in Mason County, the state Department of Transportation announced.

The slide closed the highway in Union at McReavy Road. A detour is in place, according to WSDOT.

“Geotechnical crews will evaluate the hillside Monday (and) will determine whether the roadway can be reopened at that time,” WSDOT officials said in a news release.

Travelers in the area are advised to add extra time to their trips.
