A man in his early 30s was shot Tuesday evening and died at the scene, according to the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office.

About 6:20 p.m., deputies were dispatched to the 11000 block of Morris Road Southeast, which is in the Yelm area, near Prairie Elementary School. A man had been shot multiple times at his trailer, Sheriff’s Lt. Mike Brooks said.

Nearby residents heard the shots and saw a vehicle leave the scene, which was described as a 1990s light blue or silver Honda Civic with after-market wheels.

The nearby residents, Yelm police, Thurston deputies and an area fire crew attempted to revive the man but were unsuccessful.

Thurston County Coroner Gary Warnock said the man’s medical examination is set for Friday morning.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to send an email to detectives@co.thurston.wa.us.
