Washington State Troopers responded Friday afternoon to a serious injury collision at U.S. Highway 101 in Shelton involving two cars and a log truck.

The crash occurred just past noon Friday near Brockdale Road, about 3 miles northeast of the Washington State Patrol Training Academy. Trooper Russ Winger tweeted that at least four people were injured, some critically.

Washington State Patrol reports that a car had entered northbound 101 to go southbound, causing a collision with an SUV that was pulling a utility trailer. The trailer then broke free and collided with a log truck.

A 20-year-old female was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. Two other people, including an 11-year-old boy, were transported to Providence St. Peter Hospital. Another person was transported to Mason General Hospital.

The log truck driver was not injured, according to Winger.

The road was blocked for hours, and traffic was diverted at Shelton Springs and state Route 108.
