The ducks don’t dash, but there’s still lots of fun to be had at the Lacey Rotary Duck Dash

Hundreds of rubber ducks appear to be taking a bubble bath as they get caught in the foam of the Deschutes River during a long ago Lacey Rotary Duck Dash. The Duck Dash is just a raffle these days, but there’s still fun to be had at the event at the Thurston County fairgrounds.

The Lacey Rotary Duck Dash is 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, June 1, at the Thurston County Fairgrounds on Carpenter Road Southeast near Long Lake.

The 35th annual event will feature a Duck Dash ticket raffle, music, a kids’ area, vendors, car show, food, a beer garden and more, organizers announced.

The raffle drawing will take place at 4 p.m. and winners will be posted to a website by 8 p.m.

“You do not need to be present to win, just buy your lucky duck tickets!” the announcement reads. “Ducks are $10 each, or buy a flock of 10 for more chances to win!”

Every dollar the Lacey Rotary receives from ticket sales goes to local charities, community service and international service projects, the service club says.
