Two men have been arrested, including one Sunday night, on suspicion of multiple crimes after they fired handguns at each other in a west Olympia parking lot, according to police.

No one was hurt, but bullets struck apartment buildings and windows in occupied apartments Thursday evening, May 30, Police Lt. Paul Lower said. More than 20 bullet rounds were found at the scene, he said.

About 8:15 p.m. May 30, police received multiple 911 calls that directed them to a large apartment complex in the 1300 block of Fern Street Southwest.

Police learned that two men, ages 21 and 43, had gotten into an argument in the parking lot, then each pulled out a handgun and began firing the weapons at each other.

The two men then fled, Lower said. The 43-year-old man was found at the apartment complex, while the younger man was arrested Sunday night in the 600 block of Black Lake Boulevard Southwest.

The 43-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of first-degree assault while armed with a deadly weapon, unlawful discharge of a firearm, first-degree unlawful possession of a firearm and reckless endangerment.

The 21-year-old man was booked on suspicion of first-degree assault while armed with a deadly weapon, unlawful discharge of a weapon and reckless endangerment.
