A 32-year-old Shelton man was injured Tuesday morning when he crashed his motorcycle on State Route 3 just outside Mason County, according to Washington State Patrol.

The man was taken to St. Joseph Medical Center in Tacoma for medical care.

About 7:30 a.m., the motorcyclist and another driver were headed north on SR 3 at Lake Flora Road in Kitsap County.

Troopers say a 43-year-old Port Orchard woman was turning left into a residence when the motorcyclist crashed into the rear driver side of her vehicle. She was not injured.

Trooper Katherine Weatherwax posted on social media that traffic was backed up for miles Tuesday morning. The road reopened about 9:30 a.m., according to her X feed.
