1 dead, 2 injured in Grays Harbor County wreck on Friday, State Patrol says

A 70-year-old Port Angeles man died at an area hospital after he was involved in a two-vehicle wreck near McCleary Friday afternoon, according to the Washington State Patrol.

A man and woman in their 60s from Yelm also were injured in the crash.

About noon Friday, the Port Angeles man was stopped at westbound state Route 108 at state Route 8, attempting to make a left turn.

Troopers say there was a “failure to yield the right of way,” according to a press memo.

The Yelm driver then attempted to change lanes to avoid the Port Angeles man’s vehicle, but crashed into it, according to the State Patrol.

The Port Angeles man was taken to Summit Pacific Medical Center in Elma where he later died. His name has not yet been released. The Yelm couple were taken to the same hospital for their injuries, according to the State Patrol.
