Four Lacey residents were involved in a two-vehicle wreck on southbound Interstate 5 Thursday but escaped serious injury, according to Washington State Patrol.

About 2:20 p.m. Thursday, the two vehicles were headed south on I-5 in Cowlitz County.

Troopers say a 40-year-old Aberdeen driver failed to maintain his lane and drifted into the other vehicle. He was injured and taken to Peace Health St. John Medical Center in Longview.

The vehicle he hit was occupied by four Lacey residents. The 33-year-old male driver was injured, but appears to have been treated at the scene because he was “not transported,” according to State Patrol.

The other occupants, ages 31, 15 and 6, were not injured, troopers say.
