A state agency says it has uncovered an unlicensed bar at a clubhouse across the street from Littlerock Elementary School.

The Northwest Chapter of UMF of America, which describes itself as a men’s social club on its Facebook page, operates out of the clubhouse, located at 12647 Littlerock Road SW, according to a news release from Washington’s Liquor and Cannabis Board.

Officers with LCB served a search warrant at the clubhouse Monday morning and seized cases of beer and liquor as well as fixtures, furniture, commercial refrigerators, bar equipment and other evidence. The search followed a “long-term” undercover investigation that was prompted by a complaint, the release says.

The complaint alleges the facility was serving and selling alcohol without a liquor license and that club members were engaging in other criminal conduct, according to the release.

“In Washington, private clubs and other establishments are required to have a liquor license or permit to sell, serve, store, or allow consumption of alcohol on the premises,” the release says. “The UMF clubhouse is not licensed by the Liquor and Cannabis Board for these activities.”

Those involved with the bar may now face charges for operating without a liquor license. The release indicates LCB has referred the matter to the Thurston County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.

Tara Tsehlana, spokesperson for the Thurston County PAO, said prosecutors expect to get a report from LCB officers soon and a charging decision is still pending.

UMF of America describes itself as a “male social organization that remains neutral in all aspects,” according to their website. The organization’s name is an explicit acronym.

“The express purpose of the organization was to take the vote away from women and take back the identity of men from those political and social organizations…” the website says. “Having run into some heavy resistance from the US Congress, we fell in with some bad company and have been drunk and/or loaded ever since.”
