A group of four international students was pepper sprayed by a woman as they were getting off an Intercity Transit bus at Capital Mall in Olympia on Saturday.

According to a social media post from the Olympia Police Department, the bus had stopped around 7:45 p.m. Sept. 21 at the Capital Mall bus station and the four students were allowing an older woman to get off ahead of them. Once they were all off the bus, the woman turned around and pepper sprayed the four students.

The students then went into the mall to ask for help and wash the pepper spray off their faces.

Officers are searching for the woman who was last seen wearing black glasses and a gray or purple knit cap, and she may have a gold scooter.

Police are asking witnesses and anyone with information about the suspect to call the non-emergency dispatch line at 360-753-8300 with case number 2024-5611.
