A Lewis County motorcyclist was killed Monday evening and a Mason County rider was seriously injured Tuesday morning, according to separate incidents reported by Washington State Patrol.

Both riders were women, troopers say.

About 6:25 p.m. Monday, a Woodland woman in an SUV was headed west on state Route 506 in Lewis County and turning left to southbound Interstate 5, according to State Patrol.

Meanwhile, Jennie R. Johnston, 46, of Toledo, was headed east on her motorcycle on state Route 506, approaching the exit to southbound I-5.

Troopers, citing “inattention,” say the Woodland driver crashed into Johnston. She died at the scene.

Then on Tuesday morning, a 28-year-old Allyn woman was injured in a crash on state Route 3.

She was headed south about 2:25 a.m. when she struck some debris in the road, lost control of her motorcycle and crashed, according to State Patrol.

The woman was flown to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
