A 63-year-old Pasco man was checked out at an area hospital on Monday after he and the asphalt roller he was operating fell off a trailer, according to Washington State Patrol.

Trooper Will Finn said the roller did not fall on him. Still, the man was taken to Providence Centralia Hospital in Lewis County to be checked out, he said.

About 3:30 p.m. Monday, troopers say the man was moving the roller onto the trailer when one of the asphalt roller cylinders caught an edge of the trailer.

The man was ejected from the machine and it fell to the ground as well, according to State Patrol.

The incident was reported on state Route 508 in central Lewis County.
