A two-vehicle crash on Pacific Avenue in Olympia on Sunday sent one of those cars deep into an office building, according to Olympia police.

About 2 p.m., a driver was exiting a parking lot in the 3000 block of Pacific Avenue Southeast and then turned west, Police Lt. Paul Lower said.

Meanwhile, a second driver, also headed west on the same street, crashed into that car, then veered off the road into a picnic table and through an office building wall at 3009 Pacific Ave. SE, Lower said.

The picnic table belonged to a marijuana retailer located next door, he said.

Lower said the car went so far into the building that police were hesitant to enter it because they weren’t sure it was still structurally sound.

The crash caused an estimated $30,000 in damages to the building, Lower said, citing a report about the incident.

The driver who wound up inside the building suffered an arm injury and was taken to Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia, he said.

That person also was cited for not having a valid driver’s license, Lower said.
