Olympia police are looking for a driver who threatened another driver by pointing a handgun at her late last month.

About 2:25 p.m. Oct. 29, a woman was driving north on Black Lake Boulevard, between Cooper Point Road and Capital Mall Drive, in west Olympia.

The 23-year-old woman told police that a man driving a white Jeep Cherokee swerved in front of her and cut her off. She responded with an angry gesture, then both drivers pulled up alongside each other at Capital Mall Drive and Black Lake Boulevard.

The woman, who was in the turn lane, looked over at the man who had lowered his window and was pointing a black handgun at her, Police Lt. Paul Lower said.

He didn’t say anything and then continued to drive north.

The woman grabbed her phone to call a friend and then police, he said.

Police only have a vehicle description because the woman was so focused on and frightened by the gun, Lower said.

There is a bank on the corner of that intersection with video cameras, so police have requested those images as part of the investigation, he said.

Anyone with information is asked to call Olympia police at 360-753-8300.
