A Nisqually officer was involved in a head-on collision in east Thurston County Thursday morning.

The collision occurred about 8 a.m. near the Reservation Road and St. Clair Cutoff Road roundabout, about 1.5 miles northwest of the Nisqually Red Wind Casino, Lt. Mike Brooks with the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office told The Olympian.

Brooks said the Nisqually officer turned onto Reservation Road when another car in the oncoming direction drifted over the center line and struck the officer’s vehicle. There were no injuries, and deputies do not suspect drugs or alcohol were involved, Brooks said.

“There’s no signs of impairment or any criminal conduct or anything like that,” Brooks said. “Just two damaged cars basically.”

Brooks called it a “run of the mill” vehicle collision that just happened to involve a Nisqually officer.
