Pattison Lake algae test comes back negative for toxins

Results of an algae sample taken at Pattison Lake south of Lacey has come back negative for toxic algae, according to Thurston County Public Health.

The sample was taken July 20 at the state Department of Fish and Wildlife boat launch.

However, the health department advises lake users to avoid contact with water with visible algae, because it is unknown when a bloom becomes toxic.
