A 26-year-old man was arrested again this week on suspicion of multiple crimes, Thurston County Sheriff Derek Sanders in a social media post.

Sanders said it was the second arrest of the suspect in 47 days.

On Tuesday evening, a sheriff’s deputy with a police dog, spotted the suspect driving his motorcycle recklessly on Martin Way East. The deputy attempted to stop him, then watched as the driver “accelerated at a high rate of speed.”

The motorcyclist headed west, then crashed in the area of Fourth Avenue East and Pacific Avenue Southeast in Olympia. The man then ran off and refused to surrender, according to Sanders.

Sanders said the police dog was sent on a “direct take” and captured the suspect.

According to Sanders, the suspect had brass knuckles, a large baggie of suspected methamphetamine, scales, (more) baggies and cash on him.

The man was booked about 8 p.m. on suspicion of resisting arrest, possession of a dangerous weapon, driving with a suspended license, unlawful possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver while armed, and eluding a police vehicle, according to jail information.

That information also shows he faces misdemeanor charges in Tumwater and a charge of third-degree assault from the state Department of Corrections.
