7 guns, drugs recovered Friday afternoon following arrest, Centralia police say
Four semi-automatic handguns, two semi-automatic rifles and a shotgun, plus ammunition, were recovered Friday afternoon after Centralia police arrested a man and woman from Idaho, the department announced.
Police also recovered a stolen car and what they called a “large quantity of marijuana and quantities of other narcotics.”
About noon Friday, police received a report about two men and a woman who were attempting to sell firearms and marijuana.
Their vehicle was stopped and then it was searched after police obtained a search warrant. They found the guns and drugs and also discovered that the vehicle was stolen, the result of a reported carjacking in Meridian, Idaho, near Boise, according to police.
Although three people were initially identified as attempting to sell the guns and drugs, police arrested only one man and one woman, both 23.
They were booked on suspicion of possession of a stolen motor vehicle, possession of a stolen firearm and conspiracy to deliver a controlled substance. The male suspect is a convicted felon, according to police, so he was also booked on suspicion of unlawful possession of a firearm.
More charges might be added. One of the guns was confirmed stolen, but police were still checking on the others, according to the news release.
