A 53-year-old Montesano man is facing charges of driving under the influence and vehicular assault following a wreck near Elma Monday afternoon, according to Washington State Patrol.

A 23-year-old Olympia woman was injured in the crash, but her passenger, a 10-month-old baby girl, was not hurt, troopers say.

About 4:20 p.m. Monday, the Montesano man, driving a semi-trailer, was headed west on U.S. Highway 12 at the state Route 8 off ramp. The Olympia woman was headed south on Elma/McCleary Road entering eastbound U.S. 12.
