A 20-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of multiple crimes Monday night, including the discharging of a firearm, after he fired a gun at two people following an act of domestic violence, according to Lacey police.

No one was injured by those gunshots, Detective Mike Caranto said Tuesday.

About 7 p.m., police were dispatched to an apartment in the 5000 block of 18th Avenue Southeast after a report of domestic violence. The 5000 block is between Ruddell Road and Judd Street.

Police learned that the man had allegedly assaulted a woman at the residence and stolen her phone, Caranto said.

The suspect then confronted two people unrelated to the incident and fired a gun at them, then chased them down in his car and fired his gun again at their car in the area of Ruddell Road and Lacey Boulevard, Caranto said.

The man then returned to the apartment where he was arrested by Lacey police, he said.

The suspect was booked on suspicion of first-degree assault, fourth-degree assault/domestic violence, second-degree robbery/domestic violence, drive-by shooting and arming or discharging a firearm, jail records show.
