A storm system is approaching the Puget sound area tonight, bringing a stretch of cloudy skies after the past few days of sunshine.

The National Weather Service told The News Tribune that residents will start seeing on-and-off rain showers starting Sunday morning. The showers will be light, and NWS is not expecting more than one-tenth of an inch of rain.

Residents can also expect to see some patchy morning fog as they head to work throughout the week, NWS told The News Tribune, but the fog will burn off in the afternoon.

“Take it slow on the roads, use your low beams, and give yourself plenty of time,” NWS said in a post on X.

Pierce and Thurston counties are expected to see temperatures in the low 50s throughout next week, which is normal for this time of year. At night, temperatures will drop to the low 40s and high 30s.
