A man’s body was found Monday morning in Thurston County, according to the sheriff’s office.

About 8:30 a.m., deputies were dispatched to railroad tracks near Reservation Road Southeast and Lost Lake in the Nisqually Valley, said Detective Sgt. Alan Clark.

The man, thought to be in his 40s, was found alongside the tracks and below an overpass, Clark said. His death is under investigation, although it’s not considered suspicious, he said.

The man may have been hit by a train, Clark said.

A representative of the railroad company, Burlington Northern Santa Fe, or BNSF, called 911, he said.
