Thurston Narcotics Task Force seizes $17,000, 22 pounds of meth, 3 vehicles and 2 guns -- and arrests 12
Drugs, guns, cash and other items have been seized following an investigation into a Cartel-linked regional drug trafficking organization, the Thurston Narcotics Task Force announced.
A dozen people also were arrested, nine of whom were operating in Thurston County, according to a news release.
The investigation, which was called “pink octopus,” began in August and wrapped up last month, according to the task force. Also involved were the Drug Enforcement Administration, FBI, Olympia, Lacey and Lakewood police as well as the King County Sheriff’s Office.
The following was seized:
▪ $16,972 in cash.
▪ 21.6 pounds of methamphetamine.
▪ 7.8 grams of MDMA, also called Molly or Ecstasy
▪ Three vehicles.
▪ Two firearms.
▪ 1.6 ounces of fentanyl and 1 ounce of cocaine.
The task force consists of members from the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office, Department of Homeland Security and the state Department of Corrections.
