A 36-year-old man was hit by a car Monday night on the east shore of Hood Canal, according to Washington State Patrol.

He was injured and airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

About 7:40 p.m., a 67-year-old Bremerton woman was driving east on state Route 106 when troopers say she crashed into him.

The Belfair man was crossing the road from the south shoulder to the north shoulder at the time of the crash, according to State Patrol.

Troopers also say the man was not wearing reflective clothing and was crossing in an area with no marked crosswalk.

The Bremerton woman stopped her car on the right shoulder, while the pedestrian “came to rest” on the center line, according to State Patrol.
