A 29-year-old Chehalis man was injured early Sunday after he was hit by a pickup truck’s side mirror on U.S. Highway 12, according to Washington State Patrol.

The 65-year-old Tenino man driving the truck was not injured, troopers say.

About 4:10 a.m. Sunday, the Tenino man was driving east on U.S. Highway 12, just east of Interstate 5, according to State Patrol.

Troopers say the pedestrian was standing in the eastbound lane of the highway. The Tenino driver swerved to avoid the Chehalis man, but troopers say the right-side mirror “made contact with the pedestrian.”

The injured Chehalis man was taken to Tacoma General Hospital.
