Failed culvert forces closure of portion of major road east of Lacey

WSDOT

A portion of State Route 510 near Lacey will be closed until further notice after a culvert failed beneath the roadway.

According to an April 24 news release from the Washington state Department of Transportation, the culvert blew at milepost 6 between Old Pacific Highway Southeast and Rockcress Drive Southeast. That portion of SR 510 is also known as Pacific Avenue.

WSDOT maintenance crews closed the highway to make repairs. There’s no timeline for when the road will reopen, and travelers will need to use alternate routes for the time being.
