A 40-year-old Olympia man was injured Saturday night after he crashed his motorcycle on southbound Interstate 5 in Cowlitz County, according to the Washington State Patrol.

About 11:20 p.m. Saturday, the man, who troopers say was traveling at a “high rate of speed,” crashed his motorcycle near Castle Rock.

“For unknown reasons, the rider lost control of the motorcycle, causing it to strike the roadway,” a State Patrol memo reads.

The man was ejected from the bike, according to State Patrol.

Troopers say drugs or alcohol did not play a role in the crash.

The 40-year-old man was taken to PeaceHealth St. John Medical Center in Longview.
