Theft suspects stole meat and other items from 2 food trucks in west Olympia, police say
Olympia police are looking for two burglary suspects who broke into food trucks on the city’s west side earlier this month.
About 5 a.m. June 3, police were dispatched to the 2400 block of Harrison Avenue Northwest after the owner of Bigfoot BBQ called to report the theft.
The owner discovered a hole had been cut in the fence behind his business, Lt. Paul Lower said.
The owner then reviewed surveillance video footage, which showed two people, believed to be a man and woman, who were dressed in black, cutting through the fence about 1 a.m., Lower said.
The video also showed them stealing tools and $400 in beef brisket and $150 of pork butt from a smoker that had been running overnight, he said.
Police then responded to a theft call from the owner of an adjacent food truck called Tacos California.
Video showed the same suspects breaking into that truck to steal an iPad computer, audio equipment and some business papers, Lower said.
Anyone with information about the suspects is asked to call Olympia police at 360-753-8300.
