A two-vehicle crash on state Route 3 in Mason County Tuesday morning sent a Shelton man to an area trauma center, according to Washington State Patrol.

About 8:10 a.m., the 28-year-old man was stopped at the stop sign at East Pickering Road at SR 3, which is about halfway between Shelton and Allyn.

Meanwhile, a 35-year-old Shelton man was headed north on SR 3, according to State Patrol.

Troopers say the 28-year-old driver failed to yield to the other driver and was struck on the driver’s side as he tried to turn south onto SR 3.

The 35-year-old Shelton man was not hurt, according to State Patrol.

The 28-year-old driver was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, a State Patrol memo reads.
