A 37-year-old Mason County driver was hurt Thursday morning when her vehicle was struck by a trailer that came loose on state Route 3, according to the Washington State Patrol.

A 37-year-old Mason County driver was injured Thursday morning after her vehicle was struck by a trailer that came loose on state Route 3, according to the Washington State Patrol.

A second driver also was hit by the trailer but she was not hurt.

About 11 a.m. Thursday, an unidentified driver hauling the trailer was headed south on SR 3 near Belfair. Troopers say the trailer came loose and struck two vehicles, including the Mason County woman driving north.

The woman was taken to St. Anthony Hospital in Gig Harbor for treatment of her injuries, according to State Patrol.

The driver hauling the trailer continued south on the highway. That person faces a potential hit-and-run charge, according to the State Patrol.
