Two Chehalis men were injured Saturday night in south Thurston County when the driver of the car they were in crashed into a freeway barrier, according to Washington State Patrol.

The 25-year-old driver, suspected of driving under the influence, was taken to Tacoma General Hospital, while his 41-year-old passenger was transported to Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia, troopers said.

About 11:15 p.m., the two were headed north on Interstate 5 near milepost 88 in the Grand Mound area. Troopers say their vehicle struck a left side barrier, then crossed all lanes of the freeway before coming to a stop.

Northbound I-5 was partially blocked for about three hours, according to State Patrol.
